I mean... According to your profile, you're a 24 year old drug dealer who graduated from the 'Skool for gifted man wh0ores'. I'm sure you can figure out how to talk to your own parents about something that's important to you.
Just ask one of them if they have 10 minutes to sit down and talk and explain it like you just explained it to us. Maybe also add the situation of said friend for context. It's only one night a week, so I'm sure they'll be able to schedule "you helping them out" around that.
