honestly no, I have had a best friend that I met through online school and we have been friends for more than a year. I mean I met my BF through Newgrounds so online friendships can definitely work. I personally don't agree with it but some prefer making friendships in person or some prefer online friends :D I prefer online friends to be honest. But we all have are own preferences :)

Hard agree. Everything about the Internet is so ephemeral and transcient. The very nature of the online world makes mainting something like real friendship, let a lone starting one, very difficult.

I'd disagree, I met some friends online about 3 years ago, I still have them on my mind today, while they still think of me too. Part of it is just them being some of the most chill and real people I'd meet, while part of it was me being dragged into their PS parties, which I'd always join and have fun with. You just have to be social about it, which is probably easier since you and the friend won't ever meet face to face.

Although there are differing views on this depending on the person and their preferences, I'd agree with you. It felt like a couple of years ago people were more willing to talk online, whenther it be a shared interest or talk in general. But then something recently changed and most went their own ways. It was a lonely shock to me personally, I wasn't expecting that group of online people to vanish like that. But that's just my experience, some will still prefer chatting online and the like and more power to them if they can successfully maintain that stuff :]

typically we bond through shared experiences, online is nerfed because you're not actually with the other person. Not to mention most ppl online tend to just be lonely in the first place, and will try to fill that void with any interaction or person really. It's not a "true" friendship basically.
