This will be the last time I make these kinds of post. But I want to ask one thing, how does someone move on from past mistakes and become a better person?

It depends on the person, his/her/their circumstances and personal history and if they have a healthy social net that helps them to better overcome the event. If you have friends and people who care about you, don't make ad-hominem attacks in judging you and your actions, you will usually take less time to gradually move on from the mistake and learn from it. Attacking someone doesn't help them, it only makes them isolate themselves, making the coping process more difficult and allowing maladaptive coping mechanism to be more frequent.
If someone makes me see the error without attacking me on a personal level and if I have my physiological time to take my time, I am able to move on from past mistakes while maintaining the memory of this experience.
